Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the SERP Simulator.
What is a SERP?
SERP stands for search engine results page, the page you see after searching on Google or Bing. Each result usually shows a site name, URL, title and a short description, often called a snippet.
Why does the simulator measure pixels instead of characters?
Google truncates titles based on the width they take on screen, about 600 pixels on desktop. A title full of wide letters like W and M is cut off sooner than one with narrow letters like i and l, so pixel width is more accurate than counting characters.
Will my result look exactly like this preview?
The preview closely follows Google's current layout, but Google may rewrite titles, show a different description, or add extras like ratings, site links or images. Use the preview as a reliable guide rather than a guarantee.
What should I put in my title?
Put your main keyword near the start, add a clear benefit or detail, and end with your brand name if there is room. Keep it honest and specific to what the page delivers.
