Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Open Graph Checker.
What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph tags are meta tags such as og:title, og:description and og:image that tell social networks what to show when someone shares your link. Without them, platforms guess, often picking the wrong image or text.
Why does Facebook still show the old image after I changed it?
Social networks cache link previews. After updating your tags, use Facebook's Sharing Debugger and click Scrape Again, or LinkedIn's Post Inspector, to refresh the stored preview.
What is the best Open Graph image size?
Use 1200 by 630 pixels, an aspect ratio of about 1.91 to 1. Keep text and logos away from the edges, since some platforms crop images slightly, and keep the file under 5 MB.
Do I need Twitter Card tags if I have Open Graph tags?
X can fall back to Open Graph tags for the title, description and image, but it needs twitter:card to choose the card style. Add twitter:card with the value summary_large_image to get a large image preview.
