Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Case Converter.

What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalized Case?

Title Case capitalizes the main words but keeps short words like "a", "and", "of" and "the" in lowercase, unless they start the title. Capitalized Case simply capitalizes the first letter of every word. Title Case is preferred for headlines and book titles.

What is sentence case?

Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence, plus the pronoun I, and makes everything else lowercase. It is how normal paragraphs are written, and many modern websites use it for headings too.

When should I use camelCase, snake_case or kebab-case?

These styles are used in programming and URLs. camelCase is common for JavaScript variables, snake_case for Python and databases, kebab-case for URLs and CSS classes, and CONSTANT_CASE for constants.

Will proper nouns be changed?

Yes. Automatic conversion cannot tell names from ordinary words, so names like "India" become lowercase in lowercase mode. After converting to sentence case, quickly check names and acronyms and fix them if needed.
