Will resizing reduce image quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp and also reduces the file size. Making an image much larger than its original size cannot add detail, so it may look soft or blurry. For best results, start from the largest version you have.
What does the lock icon do?
When the lock is on, changing the width automatically updates the height to keep the original proportions, so the image is not stretched. Turn it off to set both values freely.
What size is a passport photo in pixels?
A 35 by 45 mm photo at 300 dpi is about 413 by 531 pixels, which is the preset included here. Always check the exact requirements of the form or authority, as some ask for different sizes or a maximum file size.
